Five things you can get AI to do in your office this week
You do not need a big AI project to feel the benefit this week. Some of the most useful things AI can do take two minutes and no setup at all. Here are five you can try in your office today, and a note at the end on where the real gains are hiding.
1. Turn your rough notes into a tidy email
You know the email you have been putting off, the one where you are not quite sure how to word it. Type out the gist in whatever messy order it comes to you, then ask AI to turn it into a clear, friendly email. You get a solid first draft in seconds. Read it, make it sound like you, and send. This one alone takes the friction out of a dozen little jobs a week.
2. Get a first draft of the thing you keep avoiding
A quote. A proposal. A page of website copy. A reply to a tricky customer. The blank page is the hard part, and AI is very good at getting you past it. Ask it for a first draft, then edit. You are no longer starting from nothing, you are tidying something up, which is a completely different feeling and a lot faster.
3. Summarise something long so you can act on it
Got a long email chain, a report, or a set of terms you cannot face reading? Paste it in and ask for the key points and anything you need to decide or do. You get the gist and your next step in a couple of minutes, instead of losing half an hour to it.
4. Turn a voice note into tidy notes
After a call or a site visit, talk out what happened as a voice note, then have it turned into clean notes, a to-do list, or a follow-up email. It is a lovely way to capture things while they are fresh without sitting down to write them up properly, which most of us never quite get around to.
5. Save the reply you write over and over
Notice the message you type again and again, the same answer to the same question. That is the one worth turning into a saved prompt or a template you can reuse in seconds. This is where quick tips start turning into something bigger, because once you spot one repetitive job, you start seeing them everywhere.
Where the real gains are
These are the shallow end, and they are genuinely useful. But the difference between using AI for the odd job and actually getting time back is setup. It is having the right one or two things built around how your business really works, in your voice, doing the jobs that quietly eat your week, so it just happens without you thinking about it. That is the hard bit to do from a blog post, because it depends on you and your work, which is exactly why I offer a day to sit down and do it with you.
