BRANDING
Branding that is unmistakably yours
Branding is not a logo. It is the whole feeling someone gets when they land on your website, read your words and decide whether you are for them. I help small businesses across Devon and Somerset build an identity that is clear, consistent and entirely their own.
A logo is not a brand
You have a logo. Maybe a couple of colours and a font you use most of the time. But your website, your social and your last flyer all look like they came from slightly different businesses.
So you end up looking smaller and less sure of yourself than you are. The work is good. The brand is quietly letting it down.
The usual signs:
- Your logo, website and social all look slightly different
- You cannot say what your colours or fonts actually are
- Every new post or page is a fresh guess
- You look less established than you actually are
- Nothing quite feels like it is really yours
What you get
Three parts that work together
A brand is not one thing. It is these three, built to agree with each other so everything you make looks like you.
Strategy
Who you are
Clarity
Before anything is designed, we get clear on what you do and who you are for.
- Who you serve, and why
- What actually makes you different
- How you want to come across
- The tone your words should take
- One clear direction for all of it
The foundation everything else is built on.
Identity
How you look
The look
The visible part: logo, colours, type, and how they are used.
- A logo, and the variations you need
- Colours that work on screen and in print
- Type that reads on a phone
- The way it all fits together
- A look that is unmistakably yours
The part people actually see.
Guidelines
Staying consistent
A system
Simple rules so anything made later still looks like you.
- How to use the logo and colours
- What to do, and what to avoid
- Fonts, sizes and spacing
- Everything in one simple place
- So anyone can keep it on brand
So it still looks like you in a year.
What each level includes

The identity is built from the answers. | As Essentials. | As Essentials, plus planning what the photography needs to show. |
| Logo | The mark, and the variations you need for different places. | The mark and its variations, drawn from the discovery rather than from a brief. | As Essentials. | As Essentials. |
| Colour and type | The colours and typefaces your logo is built from, so you can use it from day one. | A defined palette, and a type system for headings and body rather than a single font. | As Essentials. | As Essentials. |
| Guidelines | A one page summary of what you have been given. | A one page guide: logo usage, colours, fonts, and what to avoid. | A full document, adding how the templates work, spacing, sizing and image treatment. | The full document, with your own photography shown in use. |
| Things built for you | None. This tier is the mark and how to use it. | None. The identity is defined and you apply it. | Social templates, document and proposal templates, and any print you need. | All of the above, filled with a half day of brand photography shot to the new brand. |
Joined up
Brand, website and photography that match
This is the difference doing it all under one roof makes. When I build your brand knowing it has to live on a website and carry real photography, it works in the real world, not just on a screen.
Your colours look right on screen, your type reads on a phone, and your photos share the same mood as your design. Nothing clashes, because the same person made all of it.
You can start with just the brand, and add the website and photography when you are ready. It is built to fit together from the start.
Why ask me
I have spent over thirty years in the creative industry, and I build brands, websites and photography for a living. So when I look at your business I am not guessing, and I am not reading from a checklist.
I will also tell you when you do not need much. If your brand is basically fine and just needs tightening up, I would rather say that than sell you a full rebrand. That is usually why people come back.
Things people ask
Can I just have a logo?
Yes. Logo development starts at £750 and gives you the mark, the variations you need, every file format, and the colours and typefaces it is built from. No guessing what font was used.
What is the difference between that and Essentials?
Logo development gives you a mark. Essentials gives you an identity decided on purpose. It starts with a session on who you are for and what makes you different, and the palette and type system are built from those answers rather than chosen to suit the logo.
Is hosting or a care plan included?
No. Those are for websites and are priced separately, so you are never paying for something you do not need. If you are having a website built as well, we will talk about hosting then.
Will the price change once we start?
No. Every quote is fixed and itemised before any work begins. If the job grows because you want something that was not in the original scope, you will see the cost before it happens, not on the invoice at the end.
Ready to sort your brand?
Tell me where your brand is now and I will give you an honest view of what would actually help, and what it costs.
